Granted, this is not coin-operated, but most of us coin-op collectors appreciate unusual items.
You just don't see these every day.
long story short:
I have items in a local antique mall. subsequently, I have to put in 4 hours a week as part of the booth rent agreement.
A girl comes into the mall with some mediocre items to see if we were interested in buying them.
no one was, but she had a couple things i was interested in.
we made a deal, and i asked what else she had.
she asked well, what kind of thing do you like?
i replied" i like unusual things."
she replied, "I HAVE A 2 HEADED CALF...IS THAT UNUSUAL ENOUGH?"
I REPLIED YES... IT SURE IS....WHERE IS IT?
she said it was at her house, and, she would go get it.
i figured she had the cash from the items i had already paid her for, and, that i would never see her again.
20 minutes later, she walks into the mall, and states she has it in her car, and do i want her to bring it in?
uh....NO! i'll come out to look at it (i did not want a bidding war to get going from anyone in the mall!!)
lo and behold... she had one... with documentation.
it had been her grandfathers... it lived 6 days... was exhibited in the 50's & 60's at county fairs and the wisconsin state fair... i remeber seeing this as a kid at the state fair, and, another guy that works at the mall remembers seeing it as a kid at the greene county fair in monroe, wi.
NEEDLESS TO SAY... I BOUGHT IT.
IT IS 36" LONG, AND 24" TALL.
IT IS REAL...NOT A MADE UP DEAL.
IT WAS WRITTEN UP IN THE NEWSPAPER, WHICH I HAVE FOUND ON LINE.
again... not coin-operated, but...DEFINITELY A FANTASTIC FIND OF A DIFFERENT KIND!
