I've wanted to restore a slot for a long time, but it's not that easy to find one in Germany. Now I've found one and bought small money(?).
But what did I actually buy there?
A mill? And if so, which model? Or something completely different? "Samson London" is written on the wheel.

The throw-in says "1d". Is it a device for the UK market that wants to be fed old one penny coins?

The stop buttons have no function. There are definitely parts missing.

Can someone tell me what I bought there?

You bought a old Mills made for the British market.

I think this ugly duckling is a 1920s Mills Operators Bell with skill stops. Looks like a great 1st project, you cant really do worse than the last guy, right?

after removing three coats of paint with paint stripper (the last coat doesn't really come off and I'll sandblast it) I discovered a serial number:
213240
Does this fit with the 1920s?
Can an exact year of manufacture be derived?

1d stands for 1 decimal - it's for an old large English Penny. I have a Mills War Eagle like this in that denomination.

It certainly does not. d is from the Roman denarius. This coin was pre-decimal.
