Caille pump

Postby memphisbigdave » Thu Dec 14, 2023 5:44 am

Has anyone done, or can anyone do, a pictorial rebuild of a Caille slot machine pump. I’m hesitant to dive into it as I have no idea what’s in there! I’ve read people put a rubber washer under the lid to stop leaking. Where does it go, is it a special material, do you use Dot 3 brake fluid?. I’m sure lots of people would appreciate photos
TIA

If you search on the Repair/Restoration board for Caille Regulator, there is plenty of info, some pictures of internal parts and fluid to use

I've found removing the adjusting "needle-valve" and operating the regulator will pump out the old "fluid"which is nasty, then run top quality brake fluid through it to clean more. clean the valve and seat with soft wire brush, like gun cleaning tool. Refill, purge air out until you are full, I used a squeeze condiment bottle with tapered end, replace valve and cap.
