Jennings Governor 5 New Pence

Hello everyone, new member first post. I ran across this great site and figured Id ask for some wisdom. As a new slot machine repairer (but an old Navy Maintenance Chief), I have taken on repairing and old Jennings Governor which was brought back from the UK. I want to ask a couple questions and gather some input from some of you more seasoned techs. I have overhauled the major components and got it functional with the exception of electrical system and possibly converting it back to quarters. Here are my questions;

1. Would you bother removing and converting the UK 220w or simply add small 120w LED strips?
2. Did they alter the slides or simply the coin slot entries. The differences between UK 1Shilling and 5 New Pence is miniscule (1S and 5NP Diameter is 23.59 mm and US Quarters Diameter is 24.26 mm. I believe machine would work with quarters after enlarging the coin slot entry less than one MM.

Lastly 3. I believe this pertains to both questions above, I keep hearing that altering a vintage slot machine decreases the value. Is this still the case with my Jennings which was altered for the UK market? Yes it is full of UK coins and does have UK Marquies, but if I was to save those and simply use US Marquies and quarters would it be a big deal?

Thanks in advance and hoe everyone had a great Christmas and will soon have an even better New Years!

Bumping it up because 220 views and zero input, trying one last time.

The diameter isn't so much of an issue as thickness.
I don't know the difference in thickness between quarters & 5p's, but you need to stack 20 of each next to each other & see how much difference there is.
The thickness will affect payouts & can cause coin jams.

Gaz,

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. I should have realized it was thickness vice diameter since I cleaned up the slides myself. I already knew the thickness differences (per pic below) and since the Washington quarter has a thickness right smack dab in between the UK's 5 New Pence and 1 Shilling coins which are both cycling through machine without a problem I am good to Go!

Thanks a bunch for putting together the pieces for me Gaz!

Much appreciated.
