How to adjust the Mills payout slides or safety slide?

Postby CoinOpStuff » Thu May 22, 2025 10:03 am

How to adjust the payout slides or safety slide. This machine was missing the safety slide, so I found one on eBay and put it in as shown. The safety slide is about an 1/8 off. What is the easiest and proper way to get all this aligned to prevent coin jam? Adding or adjusting the slide bumper is not an option as there is not one on this early machine and that would adjust the slides the wrong direction anyways. Payout slides either back an eighth or the safety slide forward an eighth? Much appreciated.

THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SAFETY SLIDE LOCK. IT MAY HAVE A WORN NOSE WHICH LETS THE SAFETY GO BACK FURTHER THAN IT SHOULD. TO FIX REMOVE THE SAFETY SLIDE LOCK AND ADD SOME WELD TO THE NOSE THEN FILE IT SO IT LOOKS LIKE THE REST OF THE NOSE. SOME ADJUSTMENT ON LENGTH MAY BE NEEDED.

Ah yes. I can do that. Thank you. I'll let you know how that goes.

Are you sure you bought the right slide? They may have been modified over the years.

All ended up good. Replacement slide from eBay. Welded to lengthen the slide lever about 1/8 of an inch. Some filing to get it just right. Tested and works like a charm. Back to the owner..

Thank you..
