Hi Everyone,
I have two 5 cent mechs. One is working great, and the other I am having some payout issues. One thing I noticed is there is a difference between the two Coin slide covers. The working unit has some sort of arm connected to the top right corner of the coin slide cover.

The one I am having problems with the payout is missing that arm, and it looks like the coin slide cover has been cut, where that arm should be attached.


Can anyone give me any insight on what that arm is? I cannot find that part in my manual. Any help would be appreciated.

The arm is an anti-cheating lever that locks the bottom slides. This was so that a player could not bounce the corner of the machine which would make the horiz pay levers move to payout. Once the operators started bolting the machines to the counters the need for that lever was eliminated as was the need to maintain it. So if you don't need it get rid of it just like the picture with the missing lever.

Mechanic is correct. many machines have this missing, cut off like yours or just the lever removed. actually these did cause problems from time to time IN the casinos, hence their removal. any time a machine down , your loosing money.....
Sorry ,not sure on the pay out issue. could be many little things. check the vertical arms to see if any are bent. I did have this issue, a higher pay out arm bent just enough to not interact with the horizontal pay out arms. honestly thought it was bent on purpose.
very possible just a bad spring (vertical or horizontal.).
