I am in need of a welder who can weld back this claw part that makes the reels spin. The last person to weld this part used solder that was like lead. You can bend the solder with your fingers. Also I have a part referred to as the dog in need of welding. Only half is shown in the pic the other half still on the machine.

The first part looks to be mild steel. Try your local
Muffler shop they could probably do that for a $5 little Caeser
Pizza. The other one looks cast will probably need to be brazed
Up then ground down and re drilled. If you were local we could
Do both in 15 minutes, 20 if I needed to use the drill press. Look on
Your local Craigslist for a welding service.

Here is a picture of a dog that I have. Don't know if this is the one you need but you maybe able to reshape it to work. Free if you need one.

The dog part is off a 1920's mills operator bell. Is the one pictured off a mills?

Yes it is,I believe. Mills Pace and Jennings were all very similar but I believe this is a Mills. Be happy to mail you one. I have a few.

Here you go all welded up. I'll mail it back in the morning. Tomorrow I'm going to try and braze or nickel weld the busted
mechanism in the Jennings Peacock fed ex almost destroyed and re glue the entire case.

Received the welded part yesterday and put it back on the machine. Works great!
