Mills click speed adjustment

Postby teh461 » Sun Jul 19, 2020 6:43 am

I have a Mills Golden Falls and the 5th (last) click is almost right on top of the 4th click. Is there an adjustment where I can have a little space between the last two clicks?

Try adjusting the clock by bending the fan blade into more of a straight 'I' shape so that it catches more air and slows down the speed. It may be in too much of an 'S' shape right now, making the mechanism run fast. Otherwise, your tension spring on the back of the frame, attached to the Operating Fork, may be too tight.

Fan blade is flat with no curve. I switched springs from a couple other machines... no change!

From your post I assume there is still enough time between the 4th and 5th click to allow for the machine to pay. Having said that I would speed up the 4th click by bending the clock roller plate upward a bit. Its position controls the timing of the release of fingers and slides
