Find an old radio equipment repair guy. Same paint they used during the war

What you want is what Mills called the "Hammered" look finish. They achieved this by using linseed oil in the paint.
I used the "hammered" spray paint by Rustoleum and Kilz.
I used a gray primer that I sanded to a ultra smooth finish.
It is tricky putting on the paint as you can only do one side at a time on a horizontal surface.
Good luck.

You might consider powder coating it.

I used a green hammertone finish on a few of my old gum venders, with incredible results. And much better than paint.

I have become a big fan of powder coating.

Have a hammertone can that is 2/3 full for 20.00 and free shipping in the USA. Here is the machine that I used it on.

Thanks for your response and offer radiorich123 but I was really wanting a finish which more closely resembled the original which is a darker green in wrinkle finish. I can access a hammer finish locally which is a slightly lighter shade of green than your finish which I had previously used on a Spin-It but I would prefer a wrinkle finish. If I ultimately choose a hammer finish I can create that finish with a darker green.
