Fixing light leak - Bally 873

Postby JohnConor » Fri Mar 05, 2021 10:20 am

I recently acquired a Bally 873 machine. It appears to have been repaired/reconditioned in the 1990’s at which time I suspect the custom glass was fitted to the bottom.

I was able to easily replace lights on the top and everything seems to work as it should. Pays out as expected.

The one thing left I would like to fix are the light leaks, especially around the reel area.

Can anyone help me with what to use? I have looked at acrylic and water based glass/ceramic paint. Some requires baking but I’m wondering if this is necessary as the bulbs get hot and I’d rather not put the thing in the over for fear of harming it. Thanks for any help!

I use plastic model paints.Works good for blocking the light.
