Sloppy middle reel to gear connection?

Any ideas how to tighten the second reel to the middle gear? It was fairly easy to get the reels out, lots of good YouTube videos, but I noticed when I grab the middle reel the middle gear has about an inch of play. I assume they should be tight. Was scared to start taking the reels apart, but perhaps that’s what is required?

Thanks.

You can use a 3/8" ratchet set with an extension rod to reach the 2 bolts located on the reel hub. Then you can tighten those 2 bolts and eliminate the play.

Thanks for the quick reply. The bolts seem tight beside the reels. It feels like the slop is at the gear end???

I removed one of the bolts that connects the reel to the shaft. There was no nut on the bolts for the inside reel, yet there was on the outside reel?? Does anyone know what size bolt this is? It’s definitely not a common size, local hardware store did not have a nut that fit well.

If it's the bolt that connects the reels to the shaft, that should be a 10/24". There's two bolts per hub for each reel.
