Pits in cast aluminum

Has anyone found a good way to fill in somewhat small pits in cast aluminum machine parts which are then able to be polished. I tried to have welding done but it made it worse...seemed to bring hidden voids to the surface. Was looking at a product for aluminum repair from "Muggy Weld" called Super Alloy 5 Aluminum Welding and Brazing Rod and was wondering what if anything the people on this forum may have had good results with. Thanks in advance for any help.
