1947 Mills Golden Falls reproduction

Postby ac67845 » Thu Oct 05, 2023 10:55 am

This machine decided to quit spinning the reels. I will say now that this happened after putting in about 1K nickels. I got machine in several pieces. I have about 120 hrs. into this machine.Fixing escalator, replacing many springs, finding springs at hardware store & modifying to make work properly. Several problems I figured out myself because I couldn't anything on line.I'm a retired auto technician/mechanic,over 50 yrs.I also had to go to a machinist many times for different problems, welding or machining. What it looks like now is that the kicker leaver on bottom does not travel far enough to grab reel discs.I really do not see any thing that I can adjust to grab discs. This machine has been working great for about a year, until yesterday.HELP Thanks for any help. John

The kicker lever has grooves in it from kicking off the 3 reels. After many plays, the grooves get too deep and have to be built up with a welding rod, so that they grab the 3 reel discs fully. You can try that to see if that solves the problem.

The key word here is reproduction. Quality is not there.
