Coin Rejection Mechanism help.

I asked this question on FaceBook but got no answers. Can someone on the forum help.
My Jennings Chief keeps rejecting nickels. I don’t believe this set up looks correct and the arm under the swinging weight appears nicked and bent. Looks like those two pieces may need to be connected some way, or what’s the point? Could Anyone show me how these pieces should be correctly aligned so that the coins kicker isn’t always engaged.
