My Caille Commander payout tube will not load by itself. It’s supposed to be open until filled, then close and direct coins to the box. If you load it by hand it will work and payout till it runs out of coins. There seems to be a little bent spring that operates the flap that directs the coins that is out of place. Very hard to get to

First, I think you need to get a look at your flapper/coin diverter situation. Begin by half-cycling the mech; that is, push backward a little on the "question mark" on the right-side-front and push down on the horizontal cycling bar in front of the mech until the ratchet pawl on the "dog-tail" rack at the left engages about halfway down the length of it. Now the "very hard to get to" area can be exposed by first removing the two screws securing the escalator to the frame, both of them on the right side of the mech. Then detach the spring to the long horizontal bar below it and simply let the escalator assembly flop forward: this will reveal the coin tube. You only have to remove one screw to extract the entire bifurcated coin tube, then you should be able to see the parts that actuate the coin-flapper inside the tube. You should see a bent, finger-like rod standing vertically, which is connected by a spring to a claw-like release lever which pivots on the inner right side of the frame; at the end of the cycle, the release lever gets pushed from below by the rising horizontal cycling bar at the front of the mech, allowing the finger to poke through the back of the coin tube and push the flapper forward, thereby kicking coins off the top of the coin tube.

That's how it ought to work. I'm guessing that your release lever isn't "happening" for some reason, and it's leaving your flapper in "kicked" position, diverting all your coins to the box instead of letting them pile up in the tube. Drop the escalator and remove the coin tube, have a look, and maybe post a picture of what you find there.
