That was quite helpful. I have a mint vendor Jennings (I think) but the mint doors do not have windows at the bottom, they are full length. My machine does have the knob but it does nothing. I have none of the mechanism that you show, just empty screw holes. On the rt side of the front casting on the inside of the case there is a square opening with threaded screw holes. I assume I am missing everything to make the machine vend. Oh well Its a Dime machine that looks very nice and plays well. I would post some pictures but don't have a clue how.

I'd love to see it. Better to start a new thread. In "SLOTS" just press "NEW TOPIC" which is on the left side, in red font. Write in your message/description. At the bottom is a tab that says UPLOAD ATTACHMENT. Press that and add the photo "Choose File". Once you see the photo file number in there... press ADD THE FILE. It's a two step process. Repeat for other photos. It's easy after you do it the first time.

For anyone following my thread...
For fun I didn't manually fill the jackpot/reserve. I just played the machine instead to see how long it would take to fill - with a glass of wine of course! :D
It paid out a few times... got a 10 coin and 18 coin here and there, and a bunch of 5 and 3 coin payouts. I could tell when the payout tube filled when it started diverting nickels into the jackpot. It would alternate with the coin box after a win but eventually after a couple hours over two night, the jackpot filled up - then continued to fill the reserve.
It sill amazes me how clever these were designed - and I just realized my machine is about 90 years old!

Added: And now it's full of "Mints of Quality" in the vendor. :)

UPDATE:
And finally I have a cash box. Well it's not for a Century; I'm still looking! But this one was for a Jennings Victoria and the seller made me a great deal on it ($30 including shipping!).
It slid in but was too small on the side so I just made a wooden shim. Now it nicely slides in and out and does a great job of gathering nickels.

Thank you!!! It took all of about 30 minutes for the "design," fabrication and installation. But happy it now has a cash box rather than the brass bowl I found in it! :)
