Bally's slot machine help!

Postby Mrchris283 » Thu Sep 19, 2024 5:22 pm

I was gifted a Bally's "Star Ship" slot machine about five years ago. The person who gave it to me demanded that I return the machine, which I did to keep the peace. When I gave him my machine, he found the lock drilled out, which brought him into a rage against me and my family. He is now suing me for over 12K in damages and supposedly thousand of dollars in quarters.

I don't believe the judge will side with him; I'm assuming at most, he'll say is just replace the lock. So, I have three questions.

1. Is there a replacement lock available for this machine, and how much would it cost?

2. Even if the hopper was totally full, how much cold it possibly hold?

3. The value of a semi functional 1970's mass produced Bally's machine?

Thank you in advance,
Chris

1. yes like $30 on ebay. you can use any generic lock
2. like $500. and if it was full when he gave it to you, thats on him. If you were given the machine as a gift, any money inside is also a gift.
3. Varies, but this machine: Broken $100, semi functional $150, working maybe $300-500

In order to win he would need to prove the following

1. That he loaned it to you, I.E. it wasn't a gift- only given for safekeeping
2. You broke the lock
3. there was money in when he gave it to you and how much there was
4. the machine is worth what he claims

he cant prove any of that
