O.K. , Here we go....... from my information;
Mills Chrome Bell (Diamond front), 1939 - 1944.
Originally came out in 1939 ,Chromed castings, diamonds chromed also ,then red painted, with cabinet wood sides painted Silver.
Few sold with Side vendors.
1941 Introduced Gold Glitter = "Gold Chrome".
a bit later also 1941, Introduction Emerald Chrome with option of a hand load Jack pot.
December 1941 , Introduction of the Copper Chrome.
The U.S. into W.W.2 , So 1942- 1944 a small number of these machines built on the sly ; since "Critical war materials". Chrome was already on that list shortly after Mills introduced this line, Hence the painted versions.

Last 10 cent machine appears to be a recast. Remember these were done way back , not recently. I just cant recall the company that done them back then.

note the Silver painted IS a repaint & with wrong award card (for black cherry). also the Silver paint & the emerald have just painted diamonds, not chromed ,Then painted.
also the Chrome version has NO cherry symbol on the award card (it should). 3 or more variations on the pay outs; 2 coin pay out on first cherry. or 2/5 pay out on a cherry/ cherry/ bell OR lemon. normal 3/5 mystery pay out = cherry / cherry/ ? , And club models with a 3/10 pay out.
no comment on later "recasts".

I'm just commenting on the castings. I see that some of the ones you got pictured do have repo award cards. I have worked on about 5 recasts and when you see the back of the castings you can see that they are really kind of rough compared to a Mills. You also maybe able to see the Mills numbers on the recast, but they wont be very neat.

I had a handload one awhile back but sold it. That was about 25 years ago.

Here is another picture of a recast that I did for someone. These castings were so pitted and rough, I had to use a filler to smooth them out before painting them.
