Watling Reel Strips

I have a penny Wating (smaller size) with gumball venders. The reel strips are tin with fortunes. My question is that there is a pear symbol on the first reel strip. All other symbols are classic cherries, bell, etc. There are no pears on the award card. No gold award. Have you seen this? - it looks original.
