]Picked up a neat governor this week. Chrome is in excellent condition, and lights work.

Needs lube, cleaning and possibly some new springs.

Couple of questions- it appears the previous owner used quarters though it is a 5pence machine. Is this acceptable, or will it cause a jam?

What is the approximate value of this beauty? Really thrilled to get it cleaned up.

You might have a problem using US coins. The 5 pence coins from 1968 to 1990 were 23.59 mm and after 1990 they were 18.0 mm dia.

It'll be fine.

The diameter is not as much the issue as is the thickness difference and payout slide issues could occur!
Wrong payouts on higher pays and possible slide jams!
Try it the worst thing that will happen is a payout slide jam!
Also you don't show the Award Card in the photo and they are usually set up for the European market with different payouts unlike the US market!

Thanks for the advice. Seems to work tolerably well with quarters and pays out.

Elevator is a bit gunked up,& coin slot needs cleaning.
