War eagle serial numbers

Postby koop9787 » Mon Apr 18, 2022 5:50 am

I own 2 war eagle 5 cent machines that I have owned for years now and I’m completely confused when researching serial numbers and payouts. 1 machine has serial number on the upper right casting with a 2 cherry payout and the other has a serial number on the casting next to the payout card with a matching serial stamped on the base, this machine pays out on 1cherry. Of all I read online I’m just not sure why some say single cherry payouts are fake machines. Hoping someone on here can help.

These War Eagle's were heavily reproduced in the 80's and maybe later, have seen more reproductions come thru my shop than originals!
You could buy complete kits, cabinet wood, castings, Etc.
I knew some so called "Restorer's" that bought these kits and put them out like there was no tomorrow!
Sad but TRUE!
Ciao!
