Jennings Gov allowing pulls w/o coins . . .

I have a 25c Jennings Governor tic-tac-toe. Operates and pays out fine, except that it doesn't require a coin to pull the arm/lever and engage mechanism. Any suggestions? Is there a switch? Thanks in advance.

Please remove the top hood and post a few photos of the escalator where the coin drops in the tube, front and back. Likely someone has rigged it for "free play" somewhere.

Something's missing in the escalator. What happens if you put a coin in and pull the handle? Does the group of coins slide and allow the far coin to drop in the tube?
I need to look at my own Jennings. I'll try tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to notify another member on this and he may reply quickly!

Yes. The pull advances chain and the coins, and the far coin drops into the tube. It seems to function properly when a coin is inserted, but the mechanism is the same when no coin is inserted. I assumed there is supposed to be a pin or brake that is blocked by the inserted coin that in turn frees up the pull, but I cant figure it out if there is.

Thanks for your help.

THERE IS A LEVER THAT SITS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT HAND SIDE FRAME. ITS THE LOCK LEVER FOR THE MAIN OPERATING LEVER (PORK CHOP). IF THE CATCH IS WORN OR THE SPRING ON THE LOCK LEVER IS MISSING IT WILL FREE PLAY. I'M THINKING THE SPRING IS GONE.

Thanks. I'll take a look and see if I can find a worn catch or place for a missing spring. For clarity, when you refer to the "right hand side" are you talking about the side with the pull arm, main operating lever?

Member mechanic is correct. Here's two more photos (from member 63mini to me) that show the lever and spring.

Yes, the right side when looking at the front of the machine or mech.
