I recently acquired this 1922 Jennings Dutch Boy with the glass painted over?? When I took it apart found it full of old candies.

Bought one of these many years ago from the son of the original owner who ran it in a restaurant/bar. This machine had never been touched and still had the side vender lock out if the vender was empty, the machine would not work. Because the front is for display only and doesn’t vend anything, the display mints in front of mine were wrappers over a cardboard tube. I’m sure the fake mints were put in at the factory.

Heres a Fey vender attached to Gottlieb plus/minus payout pinball machine, it’s sporting the original Superior cinnamon candies, they are in a separate compartment in the vender and could never be dispensed, giving the illusion that the vender was always full. Very clever ingenuity!!
Side note, I’ve never seen these particular candies, except in this vender.
