Jennings operates without a coin inserted

Postby dayvtherave » Thu Jan 02, 2025 12:52 pm

I'm new on this forum, recently picked up a Jenning tick tack toe slot, it operates without a coin inserted. The escalator does move. I checked and it does move forward with each pull. A post from several years mentioned a spring on the side, it is there, not broken.
Hoping I can get some guidance on what I should be looking for.

I would first check to see if the coin sensing pin needs to be adjusted on the escalator. See attached photo. It's the pin in the center of the photo facing you. It can be adjusted from the back of the escalator, and senses if a coin is present or not. It's probably adjusted wrong now, and the slot thinks there's a coin in the track even when there's not.

SOUNDS LIKE THE BANANA IS FROZEN OR THE SPRING IS BROKEN. IT'S ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT SIDE OF THE MECH AS IT'S FACING YOU. THE GREASE GETS ROCK HARD AND WILL NOT LET THE BANANA RESET. IF FROZEN YOUR GOING TO NEED A PROPANE TORCH TO MELT THE GREASE, DO NOT BEAT IT AS IT WILL BREAK.

I had the same thing happening to me and found that the gear on the escalator was frozen from old grease like mechanic said, cleaning the old grease re-lube working perfectly

I appreciate the replies. The chain moves along in the escalator smoothly, I feel that is fine. I am attaching a picture of thefront where the coin drops down, I'm not seeing the pin in the middle of the square opening on mine.
Also, I could not find bannana on the right side, can you send me a picture where to look?
I appreciate all the help, hope to get this operational.
