Help needed identifying age and maker of machines

Postby killercoinop » Wed May 27, 2009 9:48 pm

1) machine is called Hit A Homer, baseball themed machine with a green cabinet and launchs a nickel into the playfield. I have seen this machine on a couple of auctions but do not know the maker or age.

2) machine called zig zag skill. It is pretty much identical to zipper skill. the only very noticeable difference besides the name is that this machine is in a varnished wood cabinet instead of being painted green. When I found this machine it was new and still in the box and I didn't think about looking on the box for manufacturer info (It was in 1977 and I was only 15 years old). I know it had been sitting there for awhile because the sealed box was very dirty and was being stored with a couple of oak premier card vendors with '57 and '58 Topps baseball cards in them.

Sorry I am not able to post pictures at this time, but ant help offered would be greatly appreciated. John

Hit-A-Homer was made in 1947 by the Central Mfg. Co. As far as Zig Zag Skill I don't have any reference on my list to that one. Zipper Skill was made by Binks in 1954 if this helps.

Scroll down to the Trade Stimulator price guide for a picture of Hit-A-Homer and hundreds of others.

Thanks for your help! I've seen auctions before but they never mentioned a manufacturer. As for the zig zag skill...the only reference to it I've been able to find online was a pdf file of a 1980's collectors magazine with a classified ad for one. Never seen one on Ebay.
