jackpot trip mechanism

Postby bc46 » Sat Nov 06, 2010 9:50 am

I have a 1946 Mills Black Cherry. I've disassembled the mechanism and reassembled, but had a part left over: the jackpot trip mechanism. So I disassembled again and am back at the point with the slides. I can't however, figure out how the jackpot trip mechanism goes back on. On top of slides but below coverplate? On top of coverplate? Which direction does the lever point? Can't find this piece in the Meade book or restoration videos.

Thanks for any suggestions

JACKPOT TRIP AND RESET

THE PICTURE ATTACHED HERE IS FROM THE GEDDES/MEAD BOOK OWNERS PICTORIAL GUIDE PAGE 175. SORRY FOR PICTURE QUALITY BUT IT DOES SHOW TRIP LEVER AND RESET FOR JACKPOT.
WHEN 20 PAY OCCURS TRIP LEVER RISES AND TRIPS JACKPOT AND WHEN SLIDES RESET THE JACKPOT RESETS AS WELL OR IT SHOULD IN A PERFECT WORLD. SOMETIMES GETTING EVERYTHING ADJUSTED CORRECTLY CAN BE A LESSON IN PATIENCE.
HOPE THIS PICTURE HELPS. :D
