Your machine shows the three cherry payout so it is possible that the reel bundle was changed and the award card was also changed. Now that I think about it I don't recall seeing many or any standard chiefs with a three cherry payout. Mostly offered on the club and sun chief models. You may have a reel bundle out of a club or sun chief in your machine.

OMG I hope not , it is impossible for me to get the correct reel bundle here in the Netherlands, so I thing I better let it rest.
Problem is I want perfection and in this case it is not possible I think :(
I do however own a Wild Indian (label inside shows Sun chief) and it has a cherry on the 3rd reel but is doen NOT payout 3 cherry's - only 2

VERY NICE! and, even better, it's a $1 machine!

When did Jennings start with the 3 cherry pay?
What are the serial numbers on your $1 machine (matching?)?
I assume it pays correctly on TTT or you would have mentioned it.

We still don't know what happened to subject Standard Chief to not pay correctly.
I do know of one Standard Chief that combines 3 cherry pay with TTT; I'll try find out if it's all original and get serial numbers on it (I think it is probably one of the later ones).
With a little spare time, I'll try to identify other Standard Chiefs that combine TTT and 3 cherry pay.

I may have been misunderstood. I was referring to just the Standard Chief models.

The serial number on all the parts is 180380 , and it does NOT pay any of the TTT combinations , only on the 3 cherry's
The mystery of this machine keeps growing by the day.

How many vertical payout fingers are there. Standard payout out has 5 vertical fingers. Tic tac toe payout should have 6 vertical fingers.

I'd say oldslotman's observations are pretty much accurate.
Just for fun, I took a look at a sample of 193 Jennings slots produced approximately during the time of Standard Chief production and found:

There were 66 Standard Chiefs (of 193), not counting the subject of this thread.
17 had TTT feature (no 3 cherry pay);
6 had 3 cherry pay (no TTT);
only 3 had both TTT and 3 cherry pay.

3 cherry pay first appeared about machine # 1529xx.
There were few 3 cherry pay until about machine 1732xx, then they were quite common, most were models other than Standard Chief.
Only 7 of the 193 had both TTT and 3 cherry pay.

less than half of the 193 could be confirmed to have matching numbers or original machines, so some of the machines with TTT and/or 3 cherry pay could have been monkeyed with over the years.

Thanks for all your work and yes it is fun to find out as much as possible. I recently purchased 6 slots and all have something. Here in the Netherlands I notice some are build of different parts from different machines.
They play fine but miss things like with my Chief. I got an Wild Indian with I think maybe not the original reel strips but I am not sure. Machine looks great and plays well so I don't. bother.Below example of the Indian head.
