how to clean paint on slot machine case

I recently purchased a fifty-cent Mills Fish mouth, not the Black Cherry model but a red and black model that has five chrome pieces on the front castings, I have never seen this machine and am wondering what the model is? The case and the castings are in good shape but the paint on the castings is extremely dirty, how do I clean the castings without damaging the paint?

Does you machine look like this?
If yes, I don't know the official Mills name for this model, but I've heard it called the Club Special, Gold Bars, Silver bars, or Ingot Front.
The serial number should be in the 55x,xxx - 56x,xxx range.
The stories I've heard; it was a special order machine or just a limited production for casinos and wasn't a real popular design, as a result, not a lot of them survived.

Thank you for the prompt reply and the information, the machine that I have is the bottom picture, interesting part about the machine is that I cannot find a serial number anyplace on the machine, no number on the casting or the mechanism and it looks like the number on the case has been sanded off, purchased it from the family of a man that passed away and they did not know the history of the machine. As I mentioned earlier the paint on the castings is good, no chips or scratches but quite dirty. Do you have a way to clean the castings without damaging the paint? New to his thing so I do not have a lot of experience of cleaning and painting, I do not want to ruin or compromise the existing paint, the few machines that I have I try to keep as original as possible. Very nice 50 cent machine; good to hear you want to keep it original.
If you do a couple searches on this site, you'll find several tips/opinions on cleaning.
I'd take the castings off (the wood case needs different products) and use a mild dish liquid soap to clean.
