Mills Gooseneck

Has anyone ever seen a Mills gooseneck escalator with no coin denomination on it? Just a plain front with no 5,10 or 25 cent indicator on it.

I have seen many-many Mills gooseneck models without the coinage indicator on the neck.
Most all the "Operator Bell" models, in both cast iron & aluminum, (the model just before the "Operator Bell - Owl"), were blank.
Many of the "Operator Bell - Owl" revamp jackpot fronts, by many revampers, are blank as well. There are also a few of the many
"Poinsettia" variations that are blank.
I have made it a point, since the early days, working with the late Dick Bueschel, to compile a photo catalog of every variation of
Victorian Upright, 3 Reel Slot, and Trade Stimulator, that appeared before my beads. Most of the photos in my files are on
35mm, 4x5's, and Transparent Slides. Since our now-digital-age, my photo files have grown even more. So, there isn't too much out
there in collector-land, that I haven't seen, and it doesn't just pertain to gambling. It also covers Arcade, Vending, Cash Registers,
Scales, Cigar Cutters & Lighters, Coin-op Music, and yes, even some Pinballs.
On another recent thread in the Forum, someone was talking about the differences that he noticed in the upper castings of the
Mills "Roman Head". There are many machines by most all manufacturers, that have had very slight, to drastic casting variations.
One good example of a big casting difference, that many people don't even notice, unless they have been in the hobby for a long
stretch, is the Mills-Rockola "War Eagle". There are not a very large number of them around, and thank God, no one has repro'd
any, that I know of. If someone has, I would like to know about it, and 'Shame-On-Them!

Thanks for the info. Very helpful. I'm looking at buying a Mills Pace revamp operator bell and I noticed there was no coin denomination on the gooseneck.
