need help with mills hi-top slot machine

ive got a working mills hi-top. it doesnt payout correctly. most of the time it doesnt pay when it should, once in a while it will pay out a few coins when it seems it shouldnt. i bought the mills owners book, and i see some parts missing, see attached pic. first, its missing the coin tube loading arm. its that a necessary part for paying out ? its also missing the operating stop release lever and release lever wire. it looks to me like that is not necessary for proper operation, but i may be wrong. also, the anticheck payout control lever tends to move to the forward position from the rearward postion, when i operate the machine. the spring is very strong, so i dont think its a weak spring. if its not the above, what should i be looking for? are there any other web forums for this type of question?

Hi. I'm new to a lot of this myself. Honestly I can't answer your questions, but I wanted to see if you have tried YouTube. I have found a lot of help there on many machines. Some coin-op guys up load some very good videos. That are very helpful. You may already know this but wanted to mention it to you. Hope you find your answers. Good luck.
