Mills Pay out Questions

check the height of your slide posts to make sure what you are switching to will work / fit correctly.
the thickness of a 4 pay and a 2 pay slide are different.

Now I am confused.
I measured each slide with coins.
I have 4 brass/copper slides that hold 4 coins each.
I have a master slide (steel) that holds 2
I have a safety slide (steel) which I presume really holds 0.
My Mills book shows a Top slide (Bar Symbol Pay), which I don't have. Could this be the problem??

My current set up is stacked (bottom up):
1 safety slide
2 Master slide (2 pay)
3-6 brass/copper (4 pay ) slides for Cherry,Orange,Plum and Bell payouts
7 Payout slide cover

I presume the machine is a 2/4 pay. It is 1924 vintage.
When everything is in place and the screws are tightened on the slide cover there is ample room for the slides to move and probably sufficient to add the Top Slide, if it is less than .05" thick.

You are missing a two coin slide that would most likely be a steel slide . They should stack up like this. Safety slide, master slide 2 coin, two coin slide ( this is the one you are missing ), 4 coin slide, 4 coin slide, 4 coin slide, 4 coin slide, payout slide cover. If you are missing that 2 coin slide that would explain why you are getting a coin jam below the coin tube by the payout slide cover. If you get that missing 2 coin slide everything should work. You need that second 2 coin slide.

I am still wondering how I am going to find one. It is not something I have seen in catalogs or Online.
