I wanted to introduce myself as a new member.

I'm following this forum for a while now , " if you want to learn something about slots, this is the place to be" !! .

I recently bought my first slotmachine a "Mills High-Top 777 5c" , if i look at serveral pictures on the Internet " it looks to be in original unrestored condition" , it is missing some little parts and springs ( found them on the internet already but it's working.

I watched a lot of websites but can't find out where the serial number is hidden !?? , i'm sure i missed it , because the mechanism collected a lot of dirt over the years.

I don't want to mess things up so i didn't use a wire brush to clean the sides of the meganism.

Can you guys advice me , what kind of cleaner i can use ( i don't want to sandblast it or anything , i like the originality of old metal. )

So , where can i find my serial number and what kind of cleaner/solvent can i use without messing things up.

Hi

I use a composit pad its like steel wool but its not metal. Then I wipe the meck with a rag and keroseene. This works for me. Bead blasting is great if you take a part off the meck. and then bead it. Good Luck.

I'm actually working on a restoration of a Mills 777 High Top myself, and documenting the process here:

I'm not in a rush, however, so the process is probably going to take a long time. Feel free to follow along!

The serial # is on a paper tag inside the Left side. and on the rear wood base by the bottom of the metal door. YOU can use a spray solder flux ermover with a tooth brush on the slides to clean them with the meck out of the cabinet.
