How much do you think the Caille Roulette will bring in LV?

Postby Dave » Thu Apr 14, 2005 3:41 pm

Time to have a little fun :blob:

Now is your chance to show everyone how smart you are when it comes to pricing.

What do you think the Caille Roulette will go for (not counting premiums & taxes) at the LV auciton this weekend.

If any of you are attending, please let the rest of us know how the auction went.

I will not be able to make it as this is the first weekend that I have a chance to go burn some rubber on my car :iroc:

I think it is going to sell for $60,000.00. When you tack on the 20% buyer's commission and shipping and/or state sales tax (if you don't have access to a tax exempt number) that will bring the total betweem $72,000.00 and $75,000.00 which is about what I think this thing is probably worth in today's market. I won't be in Las Vegas, but I do plan on watching and bidding on some of this stuff on line. It should be interesting to say the least. Ric Gandy

Ric,

Care for a little side wager. I bet it goes for $140,000 to $150,000 plus the juice.

Dave,

I see $150,000 is already taken. I'll bet $160,000.

It is a damn shame COCA isn't and can't sponsor this bidding contest on the Caille Roulette. Grand prize could be a reserved seat at the COCA table at the next convention or Chicago show. But, seeing as how we can't email each other, my fax machine is broken, and the next issue of the Times is weeks away, I guess we will just have to have this contest in the forum. I don't have a clue what something like this roulette will sell for, but if it does in fact sell for $150,000.00, plus $20%, or $180,000.00, I guess the next logical question would be what would one of the Fey "Liberty Bells" be worth in today's market. I would pay $75K in a heartbeat.

I am betting around $140K

WatlingBoy:

You can still vote at the $150K level.

I think it will be interesting to see how many votes each price level gets.

A Fey Liberty Bell had been for sale for quite awhile at $160,000 with no takers. While it is the first 3 reel made it is not as desireable as the Caille Roulette, in my opinion. Rarity and desireable have to come into play to reach maximum price. The roulette is a lot more impressive looking with its massive ornate victorian castings and more fun to play. The Liberty Bell is a little rough to play. As Roger Kislingbury once said, "A six legged pig is rare but who wants one".

O.K. I'll take $150,000 also. I'd rather be under than over. Thanks.

It goes without saying that I would love to have a LB in my collection.

However, if I could have my choice, I would take the Roulette over the Liberty Bell. I just think it is a lot nicer looking machine.

If it goes for $60K I will really be kicking myself for not going to LV #-o

By the way, if you have not noticed, I have installed a bunch more Emoticons on to the forum.

If you are going to LV have a great time and have a free beer on me :drinkers:
