Jennings Dutch Boy Machine

Just purchased a Jennings Dutch Boy Slot Machine (my first machine). Need instructions on how to remove mechanism from the cabinet so that I can hand load the Jackpot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how similar that machine is to the Jennings "Bronze Chief" that I have, but there is a (poor quality) service manual at the link below that shows how to remove the mechanism from a Chief. My guess is that they are all very similar . . .

It's a little different from the Bronze Chief;
1. Remove upper back door (of course)
2. Remove 2 screws that secure coin head to upper casting.
3. Remove slide plate from behind coin head (it's held in place with a single thumb screw.
4. Check make sure there is no thumb screw/bolt that secures mechanism to cabinet base plate. I don't think any Dutch Boy models had this screw, but if yours does, it will be right along back edge of mechanism, probably near right corner.
5. Grab mech by the big horizontal operating bar with one hand and coin head with the other. Lift slightly up by operating bar (to clear lip on cabinet base plate) and it will easily slide straight out.

That's a great machine; it was the first slot I ever had; I love the way the Dutch Boys jumped around the front casting on different versions of the model.

Thanks so much for your replies. I didn't see any reason to break something on my first attempt at maintenance.

I know its a long shot but I'm going to post a new topic and ask if anyone has a copy of the owners/maintenance manual for the Jennings Dutch Boy
