What model Caille are we talking about here? Please post an image of the present payout slide stack situation.
Cailles typically have a top payout slide with a funny hook-shaped flange sticking out laterally toward the inside of the mech. On a JP, this flange retracts (along with the slde, naturally) to release a spring-loaded lever vertically, which trips the jackpot mechanism which is bolted to the inside of the front casting.
