PACE Comet - Front Mint Vender. How does it open?

Hi
I have acquired a Pace Comet that has the front mint venders either side of the center twin jackpot. Although the lock on top appears to be unlocked, how does the front come off... I'm assuming the front comes off to get to the mint vender columns behind. As the moment its stuck fast, but don't want to force it in case there is another lock or catch elsewhere?
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Greetings!
I just finished restoring a machine with this same front. When the lock on top of the vendor front is unlocked (the lock is in the award card frame), you lift and slightly (very gently) pull the front towards you as you lift. It should come off easily. If that fails, there is probably something wrong with the lock. In that case, it is necessary to take all of the castings off the cabinet to get to the lock to have it repaired. A good locksmith can repair the lock and/or make keys. The key is a very basic flat key.

Hi markymarkuk,
Nice find. Is it all there and working? As was the case way-back-when, most imported slots to Britain were re-painted in a single colour (sorry, color for our US friends). Reckon yours will scrub up beautifully with the castings cleaned up, polished and the highlights painted.
Will you share this with the pennymachines crew?

You can see the right colors of this machine here : http://joiret.com/pace/comet
This machine was very popular in france in the 30's.
