Buying my first slot

Postby Millsman » Tue Nov 05, 2013 5:59 am

Hello All,

I'm glad I found this forum!

After seeing a Mills high top model an old girlfriend's uncle had acquired from Southern Maryland about eight years ago, I haven't shut up about wanting one myself since then!

My wife now realizes it's going to happen and permission has been granted for one in the man cave of our new house.

Having done some research I have some questions hopefully that can be answered here.

First off, I'm primarily interested in a Mills High Top. A "Dueces Wild" machine is one of the ones I have found particularly appealing. Any insight in the standard price range for one of these?

My hopes are one of these machines in a 25 cent denomination restored with as many original parts as possible.

What were the stock colors for this machine and does having one restored to another color lessen the value?

Secondly, I want a decent stand for the slot as well and was wonder how hard it is to come across a Mills regal stand and what they usually go for.

AS well, I'm considering a redone steel owl stand that is on eBay right now but I need feedback if these price is crazy or not.

Lastly, Fred Debaugh and Richard Bright appear to be close sellers to my location. Have any of you had dealing with these gentleman?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I do have three Mills Deuces Wild machines. They are not for sale but it should give you an idea of what they should look like. I believe yellow was the only color but I could be wrong. Price wise if I was going to sell I would most likely be in the $1500.00 range. These machine can be seen here on this site under Fantastic Finds, Three virgin machines.
