Coinop Registry

Postby mtstanley » Thu Nov 07, 2013 7:07 am

I think the CoinOp Registry is a great product but have noticed many errors with some of the entries. Many have entered information that is wrong, misspelled, put info in the wrong place or entered inaccurate information. I know it's difficult to be perfect, but in order to have a valued resource, the information needs to be right. I'd like to ask you all to double check your entries and proof the information entered. As an example, under manufacturers two Caille's exist, one is spelled wrong, two AC's exist, change one so that we only have one, two Burtmeirer's exist, one is spelled wrong, etc., etc.. The same is true for some of the entries: In the Mills, we have a Diamond Front with '0' for a serial number. Really? Isn't the purpose of the Registry to have a record of serial numbers. Many of the records have the date of manufacture in the Model, those should be edited.

Let's all try a little harder getting it right, a lot of time has been invested developing this site, let's not screw it up! It is easy and possible to edit/correct your error.

But let's not be too hard on Dave... spelling mistakes are easy to make, just check "Burtmeirer" in your post....
Also, I'm not exactly that some of the dual entries are not intentional.. like "Rock Ola" and "Rock-Ola". Maybe Dave has a reason for this? :?:

I am aware of these issues and it is on my list to deal with.

I am slammed right now working on the reproduction talk for COCA next week as well as getting the COPS site up and running.

There are some other projects (non coin op related) that I am also dealing with.

Once things calm down I will get the registry cleaned up.

I don't think it will happen until after Chicago though.

In no way are my comments a slam on Dave. Dave is the hero in all this.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's us, myself included that input the data.

Hurray for Dave and all his hard work.

By making checking what we type, it will save Dave a lot of time correcting our errors later.

I think what Dave has done is great for the hobby and we all should appreciate the effort.

When I said slammed, I meant really busy. I realize the comments about registry were not meant in a derogatory way.
