Daval Tit Tat Toe

Postby altort » Tue Mar 18, 2014 7:17 pm

I am just starting a new project a Daval Tit Tat Toe, after tear down it appears that there are some parts missing, looks to be for some sort of reel stop when the back door is open, I have restored several Daval's and none had this type of reel stop, I know that Daval has had several design changes through the years and I am not sure if this model is the only one with this set up, I have been trying to come up with some design that could work but if any one has one of these machines that could take some pictures and measurements that would help me a lot or better yet if any one has the parts I would buy them, I am posting pictures of the base and gum ball divider plate were the missing parts would be.

Al:
That contraption at the front of your "Tit-Tat-Toe", appears to have been an operators made-up addition. None of the Daval Hump-Top models had a
reel brake device, like many of the other trade stimulators had. Several of these models came with or without a swivel-plate, therefore a lever that
would protrude out the bottom, would not work. I have never seen anything like this, in any of these models. That hole at the front-center, should
have an 8-32 thread, which is used for a small bracket another model. I did check 3 different machines in the shop, but none had anything there.
So, I wouldn't be too concerned about missing additional parts for that device. It's not factory.

Bill
I may have caused some confusion, on the first picture I have put those two aluminum rods there to give a perspective of were the missing part should have been, the second picture is of the base were the threaded hole with a witness mark of what ever was screwed there, the third picture is of the gumball divider plate with the slot stamped out for what ever used to be activated by that diagonal lever that is fastened to the divider, that lever is definitely factory and at one point some one bent it upwards probably at the same time that the other parts were removed.
It might not be for stopping the reels but possibly to block off the reel window since it is placed in the front? I have many Davals and seen many others but never seen or at least noticed this lever but this is my first Tit Tat Toe.
Bill I need some award cards and reel strips for some of my other machines, could you p.m. me to let me know the best way to get an order in?
Thanks Al
