It's eating quarters like there's no tomorrow.
When I took the mech out to lube it, I found
a small bolt applied to the innermost reel cog
that effectively locked out the jackpot payoff.
I was wondering why the movement was odd.
I removed it. Don't know how I did it, but I
engaged the payoff lock. took me two hrs to fgure out
that I hadn't actually broke it.
Having fun w/ my first slot.
Always wanted one.
Now I gots one.

Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:56 pmWe have two Pace machines, a Jennings and five Cailles ('cause they're cheap). One of the Pace slots is a dollar Harrah's piggyback, so maybe that counts for two and raises the total to nine?
Two of the Cailles are early '30s ten-stops which include a built-in deformed cog on the first reel starwheel. This cog just happens to correspond with the first reel jackpot bar. It doesn't make a JP absolutely impossible, but it does make it a lot less likely.

I am new to the world of collecting slots, I currently have 2 machines a Jennings star chief and a mills vest pocket, I love them both and see more in my future. I can see this hobby forming into a "habit".
