Anyone want to take a guess at what the Mills Roulette will bring at the next VCA Auction? The auction is on March 8th, & 9th of 2008.

(Live posting from the Auction) It may not fetch as much as we expect, as this looks like a very slow auction. I just saw a nice QT knocked down for under $600 and a Dewey for $15k - I would have guessed over $20k. Maybe it will pick up later.

I'm not completely surprised with the economy in a recession..correction... slowdown the discretionary spending has been cut. Although those with the big $$ will still have the big $$, its just the smaller stuff that will probably suffer the most.

$150,000 - it was all over in seconds. There were only two bidders in the room, nobody on the phone - and the hotel's internet connection went down just before the lot came up so if there were any Ebay snipers, they lost out. The bidding went 50, 75, 100, 125, 150. A friend of mine was sitting next to the winning bidder and got his card, he's a dealer not a collector, so it will probably be back on the market again before long.

Looks like I won the contest with my bid of $165,000. In fact I hit the nail on the head if you count the juice of 10% (150K + 10% = $165K).
FYI, the online price guide has been updated to reflect most of the sales from today (

If a dealer bought it then I wouldn't be surprised if he already had a buyer for it. That is a fair amount of money to put out for a single machine. If it was a Chicago area dealer and if he didn't already have a buyer I bet it will show up at the next Chicagoland show.

been watching the Victorian Casino Antique Auction on and off today via eBay live. Is it me or have the prices not really gone anywhere for the past 20 years? Sure a few machine fetch big $$ but I think those machines have always pulled the big $$
