I am a total newbey I am very interested in learning how to work on slot machine I am not interested in the 60s 70s or 80s slots I want to learn on 50s and back I hope by next year when business catches up I can buy a core some place mainly interested in Mills. I just wanted to send a shout out to the guys on here.

While you are waiting...order "Owner's Pictorial Guide to the Repair of Mills Slot Machines" by Geddes and Mead---an invaluable source of information. Also check out David Burritt's website (ibuyoldslots.com) where he has some great information on reproduction slots as well as Mills repair information on a thumb drive. Good luck!

I feel that mills is a good machine to start with when I was a kid living in Nevada , I saw a lot of these in the casinos thanks

Enjoy you will find you have gotten yourself into an expensive hobby but fun. There also a lot of good people ready to help.

I remember buying my first slots in the 70's. Other than playing them in the NCO clubs overseas I knew very little about them. Resources such as Steve Squires and the Meade and Geddes booklet were most instrumental for me to understand how they operate. I am still amazed how engineers could configure the interaction and make the mechanical components to create a working masterpiece. First of all buy the booklet and do not hesitate to ask, ask, and ask.

Thank you it will be awhile before I get a machine money is tight right now I am thinking about posting and ad to trade my motor cycle for a couple of old cores it has low miles and just collecting dust out in the shop

Being an Auto Tech and Marine Tech the mechanics of these machines over load my senses how in the hell did they engineer this ? It just blows my mind . And this is beyond my capabilities. They designed this with no computer only a slide rule some paper and using their heads just amazing and the shit lasted through the ages of time .
