Hi Guys
I forgot the name of the spray/dipped rust coating some slot restores are using on the mechanisms.
It looks like a silvery flat finish that is applied to the polished metal mechanism parts
At my age memory can be like swiss cheese

I believe you are referring to Cadmium, highly toxic I don't think it is used anymore on a regular basis
