I would try to build an 1920’s 25cent slot machine because the machines are purely mechanical which would help me in understanding mechanical engineering and second, I could make it make my school as a final project for my machine shop class. I have a 1920s Jennings slot you can buy to copy the parts if you want. You might be better off to make a working model steam engine from a die cast kit.
