Mills BONUS machine question

Today I purchased a Mills BONUS machine and the letters on the win line don't match with the BONUS letter in the top of the machine. B = B , O = O , N = O sometimes , S = U and N = S
Also with 2 cherry's on the win line there is no payout, other 2 cherry's on the reel do pay out.
I try to spin my head around how to adjust the BONUS system, so here is a cry for help.

You first have to de grease and lube the whole machine and make sure everything moves free. Then see what is happening.
