Curious what other posters think this might fetch dollarwise:

What a contraption! It employs electromechanical assist only to pull the lever and not much else... so far as I can determine. Does anyone find this appealing or historically interesting? I do... sort of. But bidding trajectory indicates this item may realize a much higher price than I or anyone I know would offer.

This machine seems very interesting for it's place in slot machine history; Jennings experimented with electricity on a couple of models; probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but way ahead of its time. This machine seems to have the same name as the square, wood case Jennings electrically operated machine from same time period. I noticed it got up to $1900 but did not meet reserve last time it was listed. I would hope that it goes for $2500 or more just based on it's unusual character; I'd easily pay that much if I were loaded with dough and into unusual machines (as are a lot of guys in this hobby).

Closed at $1425.01, "reserve not met." There is a trend here, and it is not too comforting for those who "invested" in antique slots with an eye to financial gain as opposed to amateur interest, historical nostalgia, geeky fascination, etc., such as those who set their reserve too high. Generally speaking, prices are flat or falling-- does anyone deny it? Sure, there are a lot of people who'll tell you they can sell this-or-that for blah-blah-blah, but I've been seeing some pretty legendary items go begging lately. It's at the fringes of collecting, mostly... your Watling RATs and floor machines are "safe" for now, despite coasting on inflation. I have some demographic theories regarding this trend but I doubt anyone would be interested to hear them.

I agree the slots are flat for now. Prices were much higher 10 years ago. Been collecting and restoring slots for 28 years .I also restore old tube radios and the same thing has happen. The economy has to improve much more for the colectiables to increase in value.

I collect slots, arcade and coca cola and can see that prices have droped in all but the higher end things have held there value and I except to see all rise when things get back to normal in this country, When ever that will be? I believe these are all good investments.
