Mills Roman Head and Wolf's Head

Postby flipper77 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:36 am

Some days it is best to just not even scan the FleaBay slot listings. Here is another person who puts bad pictures and semi-truthful descriptions on clearly fake machines. Can't believe that all of these folks are bidding especially on the Wolf/Lion Head fake machine with no hint at all whether there are any original parts. Just me?

Which two machines are you talking about? There are two Lion Fronts and both appear to be original, although one has only one picture and a person would be well advised to ask for more pictures if interested in bidding on it. Prices on both machines are too high. There is/was a Roman Head up on Ebay that was missing the gold award parts and reel bundle. Is that the one you are refering to?

There is a 25c Castle Front on Ebay item # 251290727140 that is definately a repo with plywood sides and a later Hi-top mechanism.

Note: There WAS a 25c Castlerooney Front. Some poor sap bought this piece of cow dung. As usual, avoiding any detailed info in the description
as to what the piece of crap actually is. "Love that giant shift lever"! These 'stick-it-to-you' sellers are coming out of the woodwork on a regular basis. :^o

I believe Flip was referring to item # 161040739592 the same guy also is selling the roman head, not enough pictures to say for sure if both are repros, the roman head has a repro back door.

Yes Altort is correct. Sorry - should have noted the FleaBay item numbers. And Terick,
Didn't you recently sell the gorgeous Roman Head? Figured you especially
would be unimpressed with the 'my father refinished this beautiful machine 40
years ago - had to be all original' bull.

Yes that is one I did. I emailed the seller on the 25c Romanhead and he was honest enough to admit that it was missing the gold award linkage and reel bundle, but he didn't post his answer on Ebay.
