Come on guys he is just a typical mercenary that see's eBay as a way to make fast and easy money. I bet he even calls himself an antique dealer. This is what eBay has caused .....people with no knowledge becoming "dealers".... When all the price guides started to flood the market back in the 80s we thought that was bad! Now anybody can be a dealer....just put it on eBay and see how lucky you can get. I decided years ago not to buy or sell on EBay. I just hate all the bad descriptions and all the scam artists that flock to it. I still like to touch and see the piece before I buy it and I want my customer to do the same......not happy I always give the money back. This guys response doesn't surprise me at all.

Ref: the Penny Smoke

The bidding went fairly high on this one ($595 plus SH) and, as a result, it was fortunately kept out of the hands of the "Butcher."
So, at least this machine will hopefully be preserved for posterity rather than destroyed for an idiot's greed.

Well here it is!!
No I am not insane, stupid or rich, just did not want to see an other Penny Smoke get destroyed to make up an other phony Tavern, if he keep this up soon you will be able to use the word "RARE" when talking about the Penny Smoke, besides as we can all see the machine is far from mint, excellent or complete, so I contacted the seller to inquire more on the condition of the machine, missing parts operation and so on before I bid further, he was pretty cocky with his response the typical mint, easy fix all original and complete answer, he pretty much set him self up because he also advertised money back if description did not match, so I placed an high bid of $600.00 knowing that the Vegas Butcher most likely would not bid that high, once I received the machine I contacted the seller about the missing parts, not mint or excellent and wanted to know what he wanted to do about it, we agreed to a $200.00 refund and I keep the machine.
Dirty trick? Maybe, but I kept an other machine from being destroyed and taught a sleazy seller a lesson on honesty.

if / when you leave feedback, if you give low dsr ratings on the condition / sellers description, it will affect his rating.
also, since he did give a rebate, if you leave a neutral, abd state that item was misrepresented, but, seller gave a PARTIAL REFUND,
he will be more likely to think a bit in the wording of his description for future listings.

Outstanding on all counts;
1. This machine escaped the Butcher Shop.
2. You turned a high price into a good fair deal.
3. Taught the seller to at least think twice on his descriptions.

Looks like the machine has a good home and joined some good company;
it's an ironic photo;
instead of becoming a bastardized Tavern, the Penny Smoke now sits next to the real deal,
and with a real Bar Boy close by, another machine often faked.
