Just in time for April Fool's Day. Not sure what to think of this item. It has all the hallmarks of a "misreprestoration"-- too slick in some places and too cheap-ass in others-- but also plenty of scars from relatively recent, traumatic abuse. Is this thing famous (infamous) among collectors? Looks like it's been kicked around a bit!

Anyone willing to speculate what this will go for if it comes to term?

I don't understand the April Fools joke. Is this supposed to be a super rare machine or something? Or Ben Hur Machine never existed...I'm confused (not hard!)

Yeah, sorry. I just saw this thing come up today (this of all days) and wondered what others might think of it, including the possibility that this was some sort of prank. Something tells me that some collectors might be familiar with this particular BH, 'cause it looks like it's been "restored" badly several times over. The starting bid was under $10. The auction ended as flakily as it began, just after bidding topped about $100, so just count me among the confused.

I saw that machine at the Chicagoland show this past weekend. Or an exact copy of it.

The guy who had it, wanted $800. It was missing parts of the inside coin entry per the seller. It looked like a Formica top panel, with junk plastic kitchen cabinet molding around it, and it had a plain plywood piece for a back door. It's a British Caille, and used an English penny. That's the so-called "50 cent" model that people talk about, since the old English penny is exactly the same size as an American 50 cent piece. A couple of rounds through the area, and the machine was gone from his booth, so somebody bought it, maybe hoping to make a killing with it on Ebay.

have been looking for any parts for years as well as any internal pics so I can restore it
Anyone have any help

Just found these forums and thought I would ask here
This is the first I have heard of one of these machines for sale in a very long time
I was told when I got mine they were not all that rare
