Machine is brass plated, repro back door, repro award card, painted incorrectly and way over priced. The entire mechanism has been painted gray but it is correct for this machine.

The mech just looked different, reel stops, from others that I have seen. Not interested, just looking.

The reel stop levers are different from yours. This is a late production machine. Watling kept tinkering with and making changes through the production run. This how we can date the cabinet to the mech, i.e. if a late model mech is in an early cabinet. Watling used 3 different style of reel stop levers. They had 5 different viaritations of reel bundle kickers and none of the mechs played as well as the early ones, they should have left them alone.

To Watlingboy - that is terrific info! I thought that it was just my experience but my Rol-A-Tor serial 64xxx and my early Rol-A-Top 65xxx play so crisp and smooth and dependably. My later Rol-A-Top and Treasuries are more problematic. One of my later Treasury machines has a different reel kicker and it "misses" catching maybe one in ten pulls. Tried all kinds of adjustments but it just isn't as robust as earlier models. Very interesting.

I did not mean to imply that the later mechs did not work properly. Every version played, payed and kicked the reel bundle properly. The early mechs, in my opinion, played smoother and were easier to pull the handle. Not kicking the bundle properly could be the lever that holds the bundle while the kicker crawls up is not adjusted. The kicker could be worn, someone could have changed the bundle and it is the wrong one. No matter what version of mech you have, it should work correctly.

Watlingboy knows his Watlings! Been awhile since his posting but the comment about the lever holding the bundle needing adjustment rang true. Had a few minutes today before football and decided to play with the Treasury mech. Clearly the linkage and the lever were releasing the bundle early and reels were sometimes moving causing the kicker to not land properly. Simple linkage extension, bundle stays held longer and no missed spins now. Have a Superior Confection with the same adjustment needed on it's older but basically Watling mech so that one is next. Thanks for the tip!
